Wuhan Ayi (ongoing, 2024-currently)

Wuhan Ayi (武汉阿姨) is a community-focused art project facilitated by Wanqing Chen and Siqing Zhan, both born and raised in Wuhan. Through filmmaking and creative workshops, the project captures the vibrant yet often overlooked lives of older Chinese women in Wuhan—their creativity, independence, and strength—while opening up conversations about gender, ageing, and cultural heritage.
